Ajax have beaten Groningen 2-0 in the Eredivisie thanks to goals from Nemanja Gudelj and Viktor Fischer
Arkadiusz Milk threatened the Groningen defence with two headers early on. His first attempt missed the target but he tested Sergio Padt with his second attempt eight minutes later.
Gudelj broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when his free kick found the bottom corner.
Jesper Drost then forced Jasper Cillessen into a save from long range.
Ajax pushed to double their lead in the second half, but Milik left his shooting boots at home. The Poland striker missed the target three times in the space of two minutes.
Anwar El Ghazi looked dangerous but his shot was saved before another was blocked five minutes later.
Fischer sealed the victory with 10 minutes remaining when he curled the ball into the far post.
