AC Milan transfer news: Juventus striker 'top priority' as club considers player-plus-cash deal

Milan target Juventus striker as priority and considers swap deal

Milan are preparing for the new season with several changes to their squad, including the expected departure of captain Theo Hernandez, who has reportedly agreed terms with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. Amid this overhaul, head coach Massimiliano Allegri is prioritising the signing of a centre-forward and appears to have chosen his preferred target.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan remain focused on securing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. Although the Serbian striker has been on the club’s radar since January, there have been no concrete negotiations to facilitate a move between the two Serie A rivals.

Juventus are said to be waiting for other clubs to enter the race, while Milan are also exploring more affordable alternatives. Reports in the Italian media suggest that Allegri’s attacking concerns could be addressed by players currently struggling for game time at other European heavyweights.

Among the alternative options being considered are Darwin Nunez of Liverpool, Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea and Goncalo Ramos of Paris Saint-Germain. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Ramos is viewed as a potentially valuable opportunity as the summer window enters its final stretch.

Swap deal to bring Vlahovic to Milan?

Even so, Vlahovic remains Milan’s primary objective. The club are believed to have already received the player’s approval for the move. Juventus’ need for liquidity is another factor that could accelerate negotiations, particularly if the Bianconeri identify a suitable replacement for the striker, who remains under contract until June 2026.

Milan are reportedly unwilling to wait too long to finalise a deal and may be open to including a player in the operation to facilitate progress. Juventus head coach Igor Tudor is said to appreciate centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic, but Milan would prefer to offer Malick Thiaw instead.

The reported €25m price tag for Vlahovic (approximately £21m) along with his high wages in Turin, add to the complexity of the deal. With Milan missing out on European competition for the 2025-26 campaign, the club are said to be adopting a cautious stance in the transfer market and are not willing to overspend.

Milan eyeing Vanderson following right-back departures

Alongside their search for a striker, Milan are also in the market for a new right-back following the exits of Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi at the end of last season. One of the names linked with the Rossoneri is Brazilian defender Vanderson, currently playing for Monaco and recently called up to the national team.

The 24-year-old has received public praise from Cafu, who spoke highly of the potential Milan target. Journalist Matteo Moretto has also reported on the interest, noting that the French club may not be willing to let him go easily.

"He comes from a fantastic season, in which he played a lot and well. And, in my opinion, he can still grow a lot, not by chance he is a starter in Ancelotti's national team. Vanderson is top – declared Cafu.

Vanderson is under contract until the summer of 2028 and has been valued at €20m – around £16.9m – by Transfermarkt. “He is a name they really like, but it will depend on whether the deal is viable. I think it could be a difficult one because of the asking price,” Moretto explained.
