Clarence Seedorf: 'We will fight for Europa League spot'

AC Milan head coach Clarence Seedorf has said that beating arch rivals Inter Milan 1-0 in Serie A this evening proves that his side are prepared to fight for Europa League qualification this season.

Nigel de Jong's header was enough to give Seedorf's side the win, with Milan ending a run of five derbies without victory over Inter.

"We declared that we want to fight to the end to reach the Europa League, which is tough as there are so many teams involved in the race," he told reporters after the game.

"We continue to believe and beat an Inter side that battled, but my lads had something more in terms of determination and solidity."

Milan currently hold eighth position in the Serie A table.
