Massimiliano Allegri challenges his AC Milan players to start picking up points.

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is confident that his side can bounce back in 2013.

Milan are in seventh place in Serie A at the halfway stage, having just suffered a 4-2 defeat to AS Roma.

"After the defeat to Roma, we need to bounce back," Allegri told reporters.

"Hopefully in 2013 we will solve our problems at conceding goals from set-pieces.

"The important thing is to improve our mental approach. Our objective is to qualify for the Champions League and we need to start picking up points."

Milan face Siena in their first game of 2013.
