New Zealand draw ODI series level with four-wicket victory over Pakistan

An unbeaten 70 from Kane Williamson helps New Zealand secure a four-wicket victory in the second ODI against Pakistan to level the series 1-1.

New Zealand have levelled the five-match one-day series against Pakistan by securing a four-wicket victory in the second match in Sharjah.

Dean Brownlie and Anton Devcich opened the attack for the Black Caps as they attempted to chase a 253 target following Pakistan's innings.

It was a strong opening partnership for the pair as they racked up 103 runs before Shahid Afridi bowled Brownlie out having hit 47 runs off 61 balls.

Devcich reached a half-century but he was the next to fall after getting run out on 58 following Haris Sohail's delivery.

Sohail went on to add two more wickets to his tally as Pakistan began to find some momentum on the pitch.

After losing five wickets, Kane Williamson and Luke Ronchi ramped up New Zealand's attack and reached 95 runs combined until Ronchi (36) was sent back to the pavilion.

However, Williamson remained composed with the bat and helped guide the Black Caps to victory with an unbeaten 70, while Daniel Vettori added to the target with 13 runs off 19 balls.

New Zealand clinched the contest with 24 balls remaining.
