Michael Clarke to face fitness test ahead of India series

Michael Clarke will undergo a key fitness test tomorrow in order to see if he is fit enough to feature in next week's rearranged first Test against India.

Australia coach Darren Lehmann has confirmed that captain Michael Clarke will face a fitness test on Saturday to check his chances of featuring in next week's rearranged first Test against India.

The 33-year-old, who has been plagued with hamstring troubles since August, retains an outside chance of playing in the Adelaide meeting on Tuesday.

Shaun Marsh has been called into the Baggy Greens squad amid doubts over Clarke's fitness, although the skipper did manage to take part in training yesterday.

"As long as he's fine to do the running and can bat [he'll play]," BBC Sport quotes Lehman as saying. "We'll be guided by medical staff, the captain himself, selectors. We'll get together and assess what the plan is tomorrow."

Clarke had put his injury treatment on hold while mourning the death of teammate Phil Hughes, who passed away last week at the age of 25.
