San Antonio Spurs thrashed by Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets ease to a 103-89 win over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA.

An injury-hit San Antonio Spurs side was thrashed by the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center in the NBA.

The visitors were missing their top four scorers through injury, but Cory Joseph and Danny Green kept the Spurs in touch at half time, as they were down by just a point heading into the break.

Nando de Colo, who was starting in place of Tony Parker, missed the majority of the first half after being left with a bloodied nose while defending Andrei Kirilenko, but he was able to return in a protective mask for the second half.

The Nets were able to start opening up a lead once the third quarter was underway, with Alan Anderson scoring 19 of his 22 points after the break.

Deron Williams also chipped in, adding 16 points and eight assists to give Brooklyn their first win over San Antonio in six meetings between the two sides.

The results leaves the Nets as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Spurs are second in the Western Conference.
