Carmelo Anthony: 'New York Knicks are playing for pride'

The New York Knicks are "playing for pride" after just 10 wins in 53 games, according to forward Carmelo Anthony.

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has admitted that his team are playing for pride for the remainder of the season.

The Knicks have the NBA's worst record so far with just 10 wins in 53 games, and Anthony believes that their poor results have become a burden.

He told the New York Post: "You know, at this point in the season as a team, I think we're more playing for a sense of pride, having some type of ego to go out there and play basketball the right way, trying to get better in practice and taking advantage of everything that we have going on.

"I want guys to get better and have fun. Don't look at the record, just play ball the right way. The results are the results. Whether we win or whether we lose, we know we go out there and we give it our all."

Anthony has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
