Monty Williams bemoans "embarrassing" referee call

New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams says that it is embarrassing that Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis was not called for a foul against Austin Rivers.

Monty Williams has described a second-half refereeing decision not to call a foul against Monta Ellis as "embarrassing".

The New Orleans Pelicans' Austin Rivers believed that he was held up by the Dallas Mavericks guard, but the officials refused to rule Ellis's actions as a foul, giving the Mavericks a 110-107 win.

The Pelicans coach told reporters: "That's embarrassing. That's not right.

"A no-call in a game like that when [Mavericks forward] Dirk [Nowitzki] gets the same call in the first half and they shot 45 free throws? Certainly, we're not going to blame the game on the referees."

The Pelicans host the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow.
