Smith out indefinitely with knee injury

The New Orleans Pelicans have announced that Jason Smith is out indefinitely with a knee injury.

The center underwent a scan which revealed that he had cartilage damage in his right knee.

Smith is the latest in a string of injuries to hit the Pelicans, with Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday also out.

Smith has averaged 9.7 points per game this season.
