Erik Spoelstra plays down heat controversy in game one of NBA Finals

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has played down the heat controversy that engulfed his side's game one loss in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Heat lost 110-95 on a night that saw the AT&T Center's air conditioning unit break down, leaving the players to play in troublesome temperatures. However, the Heat's coach has said that both sides had to deal with the conditions.

"It was an unusual environment," Spoelstra told reporters after the game.

"We're used to having the jotter arena at this time of year. It's unfortunate that it was that way, but both teams had to deal with it."

The air conditioning problem has now been resolved, with game two between the sides getting underway on Sunday.
