Steve Nash ready to return to practice

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash is expected to return to practice this week but it is unclear when he will return to the court.

The veteran guard spent last week in Vancouver working out with his long-time personal trainer as he tries to overcome ongoing back problems.

"I think he made some improvements, but we'll see," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters.

In six appearances so far this season, Nash is averaging 6.7 points on 26.1% shooting, with teammate Steve Blake playing a vital role in his absence.
