Bird: 'Pacers will decide on George position'

Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird has revealed that the team are trying to convince Paul George to play at power forward.

The 25-year-old has played at small forward for the club in his five-year career, although he spent last year on the sidelines after sustaining a devastating leg injury.

The Pacers added Monta Ellis and Jordan Hill during free agency, which Bird has suggested could force a change in position for George.

"I'm not going to get into a battle about where Paul George will play," Bird told reporters. "He's a basketball player, and we can put him anywhere out there."

George has averaged 15.2 points per game in his five-year career in the NBA.
