Jared Jeffries retires from professional basketball and accepts a scouting role with the Denver Nuggets.

Jared Jeffries has retired from professional basketball and accepted a job with the Denver Nuggets.

The 31-year-old, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, is expected to join Denver's scouting network following an 11-year NBA playing career.

Jeffries was hired by the Nuggets due to his close relationship with Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Nuggets haven't yet confirmed what Jeffries will be focusing on and whether he will be involved with recruitment.
