Denver Nuggets and Kenneth Faried agree on five-year extension?

The Denver Nuggets have reportedly agreed a contract extension for star player Kenneth Faried worth in the region of $60m (£37.4m).

Yahoo! Sports, which cites league sources, suggests that Faired is to seal a five-year contract extension, with the player one of the 2011 Draft cast eligible for new deals until October 31.

The report continues that talks over the contract began to take shape last week before Faried, his agent and Denver came to an agreement on Sunday night.

The power forward has shot to prominence in recent NBA seasons, while also shining in this year's World Cup of Basketball for gold-medal winners the USA.
