Henderson signs new Hornets contract

Charlotte Hornets guard Gerald Henderson has triggered a contract extension clause and will stay with the team next season.

The 27-year-old joined the team as the 12th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and started 72 times in the last campaign.

In his last deal, Henderson was handed a clause which said that he could extend it by a further 12 months at any time. He will pick up £3.8m for the season.

The number nine scored over 20 points in 11 games last year.
