Andy Murray's quest for a maiden Grand Slam title will continue with a first-round match against world number 73 Alex Bogomolov at the US Open.

The British Olympic gold medallist, who is seeded third for the final major of the year, has been drawn in the same half of the bracket as Roger Federer.

The Swiss maestro begins his campaign against home favourite Donald Young while defending champion Novak Djokovic faces Paolo Lorenzi in New York.

On the women's side of the draw, Serena Williams will meet 20-year-old compatriot Coco Vandeweghe, while Samantha Stosur begins her Flushing Meadows defence against Petra Martic.

Briton's Laura Robson could face former winner Kim Clijsters in the second round if she advances past an unnamed qualifier at the first stage.
