Newcastle Falcons ease past London Welsh

Newcastle Falcons ease to a 23-3 win over London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership.

London Welsh have slipped to their sixth defeat of the season after being beaten 23-3 by Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

The sides were closely matched in the opening 15 minutes, with an Olly Barkley penalty cancelling out an early kick from Juan Pablo Socino.

However, the visitors started to dominate the possession, resulting in tries for Adam Powell and Mark Wilson before half time to give Newcastle a 13-point advantage.

The Falcons continued to pull away after the break as Ruki Tipuna carried the ball over following a lengthy build up from Alex Tait and Wilson.

Newcastle continued to look the more likely as the match progressed, but a yellow card for Wilson late on left the visitors defending for the final 10 minutes.

The result leaves Welsh at the bottom of the table with no wins, while Newcastle remain 11th.
