Harlequins edge past Gloucester Rugby

Harlequins see off Gloucester Rugby with a 22-15 win in the Aviva Premiership thanks to tries from Nick Easter and Luke Wallace.

Harlequins edged past Gloucester Rugby with a 22-15 win in the Aviva Premiership this evening thanks to tries from Nick Easter, Luke Wallace and Charlie Walker.

Billy Twelvetrees gave his side a 6-0 advantage inside the opening six minutes with two penalties as Gloucester made a lively start to the game.

The Gloucester skipper missed an opportunity to extend their lead, however, as his third penalty kick swung just wide of the posts.

Referee Andrew Small then had to refer to the television match official to see if the hosts had scored after a swift move upfield, but Rob Cook was held up and they were denied the try.

Twelvetrees widened the gap by scoring another pair of penalties, but Easter grabbed the game's first try for Harlequins after a few attacking phases.

Nick Evans missed a penalty kick for the away side, but made amends almost immediately after by adding another three points just before the break.

After the restart, Twelvetrees failed with two penalty efforts from out wide as Gloucester looked to put some daylight between them and Harlequins.

They were punished for the missed chances by Wallace, who dotted down his side's second try, before Walker sealed the win by sprinting over the line in the final minutes.
