Dani Parejo wants new Valencia deal

Valencia skipper Dani Parejo says that he wants to sign a new long-term deal at the Mestalla.

Dani Parejo has revealed that he is desperate to sign a new long-term contract with Valencia.

The Spanish midfielder joined Los Che from Getafe in 2011 and initially struggled to settle at the Mestalla.

However, the 25-year-old has since been appointed captain of the Spanish outfit and has been a key contributor to their success this season.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the midfielder, but Parejo wants to extend his stay with Valencia.

"I'd like to continue, of course I would. There was a time I went through quite a tough spell at Valencia and at the beginning I wanted to leave because I couldn't get into the team," he told AS.

"It was frustrating and because I was young I thought that if there was no place for me here then I'd need to go elsewhere, but I feel very lucky that I decided against it. This is a club and a city I can identify more with every day.

"As for extending my contract, that's a matter for my agent and I don't know a lot about it. The only things I've said to my representative are my personal feelings."

Parejo has scored four league goals this season.
