Barcelona scout confirms club are interested in Bryan Gil

Barcelona scout Mani has revealed that the Catalan giants are interested in signing Sevilla youngster Bryan Gil.

The 20-year-old has scored twice in 21 appearances for Sevilla but is currently on loan at Eibar, where he has contributed three goals and two assists in 15 outings during the 2020-21 campaign.

As it stands, Gil is due to return to the Europa League winners this summer, but Mani, who is credited with bringing Ansu Fati to Camp Nou, has revealed that the club are exploring the possibility of signing "the best footballer in Spain".

"He is right now the best footballer in Spain and I compare him with Neymar. He has things of his own that are of an enormous versatility: as a winger, a midfielder and a left-sided forward. He is impressive," Mani told Cadena Ser.

"I have spoken with Ramon Planes (technical director) and he has Bryan Gil in mind. If they do so now he has a clause of €35m (£30.7m), but if he renews with Sevilla he will have a €150m (£131.4m) clause."

Gil, who also spent time out on loan with Leganes last season, has been capped on three occasions by Spain's Under-21s side.

Manchester United 'have not contacted Sergio Ramos'

Manchester United have reportedly not been in contact with Sergio Ramos despite suggestions that the English giants are keen to bring the Real Madrid defender to Old Trafford.

Ramos's contract at the Bernabeu is due to expire at the end of June, and it appears increasingly likely that the Spain international will be leaving Los Blancos ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

United have been strongly linked with the 34-year-old, who is expected to be on the sidelines until April with a knee injury which required surgery.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions have not yet been in contact with Ramos as they are still assessing potential centre-back targets.

The former Sevilla youngster has allegedly already turned down two new contract offers from Zinedine Zidane's side and has recently moved closer to the exit door.

Ramos - also believed to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain - has scored 100 goals in 668 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, winning five La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
