David Alaba to become Chelsea's highest-earning player?

Chelsea will reportedly need to make David Alaba their highest-earning player if they are to land the Bayern Munich ace next year.

The Blues are believed to be one of four clubs interested in signing the Austria international, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Alaba is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and therefore boasts high bargaining power, knowing that he can be signed without a transfer fee involved.

Bayern have yet to rule out tying the versatile defender down to a new deal, but German outlet Bild reports that he is demanding £350,000 a week.

That would make the 28-year-old Chelsea's highest earner should they persuade him to join them over Madrid, Barca and PSG, with Kai Havertz next on the list with a rumoured £310,000-a-week salary.

Alaba has spent the past decade as a first-team regular for Bayern, making over 400 appearances for the reigning German and European champions in all competitions.

Dominik Szoboszlai 'rejects Arsenal, Real Madrid for RB Leipzig'

Red Bull Salzburg attacker Dominik Szoboszlai will reportedly complete a move to RB Leipzig when the January transfer window opens for business.

The 20-year-old has been in excellent form for his Austrian club during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring eight times and contributing nine assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal and Real Madrid have both been strongly linked with the Hungary international, with the Gunners thought to be in a good position to bring him to the Premier League.

However, according to Sky Deutschland, the attacker has decided to join Salzburg's sister club Leipzig, with a move due to be completed at the start of 2021.

Szoboszlai has a release clause of just shy of £23m in his current deal, and the Bundesliga outfit will allegedly pay the full amount to bring him to Germany.

The Hungarian scored twice in six appearances in the group stages of this season's Champions League, while he has managed four goals and six assists in 10 outings in the 2020-21 Austrian Bundesliga.
