Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup is hopeful that his commitment to the club will help his team in the transfer market over the summer.

The Swans boss penned a 12-month contract extension earlier this month following speculation linking him with positions away from the club.

Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post: "I think it's important to give the right signal — to signal that I want to stay here. It's no secret that some of the foreign players we have signed have come here because they knew me.

"It could be that me signing the contract helps us get players, especially if they come from certain countries, but we will have to see."
