Coaching trio leave Swansea City

Three members of Garry Monk's backroom team at Swansea City leave the club following his sacking on Wednesday.

Swansea City have announced that three members of former manager Garry Monk's coaching team have left the club.

Assistant manager Pep Clotet and first-team coaches James Beattie and Kristian O'Leary have moved on in the wake of Monk's dismissal on Wednesday.

Spanish coach Clotet, who become assistant three months after joining Swansea as academy consultant in 2013, had been linked with succeeding Monk at the Liberty Stadium.

Former England striker Beattie was appointed first-team coach during the summer, while former Swansea player O'Leary became part of the first-team coaching staff after Monk took charge in 2014, having been a senior coach since 2012.

"The club would like to thank Pep, James and Kristian for their service to the club and wish them well for the future," a statement on Swansea's official website read.

"A statement regarding the management structure for Saturday's fixture at Manchester City will be confirmed in due course."

David Moyes, Mark Warburton and former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers have been linked with the job at the Welsh side.
