Sunday's World Cup predictions including Spain vs. Germany

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's World Cup fixtures, including Spain vs. Germany.

Japan vs. Costa Rica (Sunday, 10.00am)

Japan will be looking to build on their incredible victory over Germany when they continue their Group E campaign against Costa Rica on Sunday.

Hajime Moriyasu's side started their 2022 World Cup with a 2-1 win over four-time world champions Germany on Wednesday, while Costa Rica suffered a 7-0 defeat to Spain in their tournament opener.

We say: Japan 2-0 Costa Rica

Japan were brilliant against Germany on Wednesday, and it is really difficult to look past them when picking a winner here. Costa Rica should show improvement from their defeat to Spain, but we are fully expecting Japan to make it back-to-back wins in the section courtesy of a 2-0 scoreline.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Belgium vs. Morocco (Sunday, 1.00pm)

Aiming to put at least one foot in the knockout stages, Belgium continue their pursuit of a first World Cup on Sunday, when they meet Group F rivals Morocco at Al Thumama Stadium.

After edging out Canada in their opening match, the Red Devils will now seek to tame the Atlas Lions, who held Croatia to a goalless draw.

We say: Belgium 1-0 Morocco

Surely a Belgium squad still featuring some top-tier performers can put on a brighter display on Sunday, following their limp start to the World Cup. Despite being stifled to an extent by a capable Morocco side, they can rely on a moment or two of individual brilliance to secure their second straight win and start thinking about the knockout rounds.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Croatia vs. Canada (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Croatia and Canada will both go in search of their first win and first goals in World Cup 2022 Group F during Sunday's battle at the Khalifa International Stadium.

The Chequered Ones were held to a goalless draw by Morocco in their opening fixture, while the Canucks succumbed to the Red Devils of Belgium in a 1-0 loss.

We say: Croatia 1-0 Canada

Canada certainly demonstrated a greater sense of attacking desire than Croatia did on matchday one, but any similar sort of profligacy will prove fatal versus a steadfast Chequered Ones' defence.

Any neutral fans hoping for a glut of goals should look elsewhere, and another goalless draw is not beyond the realm of possibility here, but Dalic's side can stand firm at the back and win the midfield battle to edge a close contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Spain vs. Germany (Sunday, 7.00pm)

Two European heavyweights who kicked off their 2022 World Cup campaigns in contrasting fashion lock horns at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday, as high-flying Spain take on an out-of-sorts Germany outfit.

While La Roja secured their biggest-ever World Cup win last time out, Die Mannschaft were condemned to one of their most embarrassing defeats on the world's biggest stage and are now at risk of elimination from Group E.

We say: Spain 2-0 Germany

Spain were rampant in front of goal against Costa Rica and they breezed to victory the last time that they met with Germany, but a tighter affair is to be expected on Sunday, with Flick's men under huge pressure to respond after their disappointing loss against Japan.

The four-time world champions are sure to be fired up for this pivotal clash in Group E, but we can see Enrique's side coming out on top, potentially ending Die Mannschaft's brief stint in Qatar.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
