Diego Simeone focused on Osasuna

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone tells his players to focus on Tuesday's clash with Osasuna rather than Saturday's meeting with Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has called on his players to focus on Tuesday's clash with Osasuna and not the Madrid derby this weekend.

The capital outfit, who have won all five of their league fixtures this season, could make that six this evening ahead of Saturday's trip to the Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid.

"There is no reason to leave the path that we are on. That would spoil the effects of winning against Valladolid away from home. It would not be nice if on Tuesday night we do not follow that up with a good result at home. The way forward is to grow," he told reporters at a press conference.

"Osasuna? When a new coach arrives it renews the opportunity for some players. The result they earned the other day has raised their expectation and ambition.

"We have to determine the game with a high tempo and look for the intensity that we need so as to continue."

Barcelona currently top La Liga on goal difference.
