Gareth Bale is expected to return for Real Madrid's league meeting with Atletico Madrid at the weekend.

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is expected to return for the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid this weekend.

The Welshman was pencilled in for his home debut against Getafe on Sunday, but pulled out in the warm-up after suffering a thigh strain.

The capital outfit confirmed this morning that the former Tottenham Hotspur winger is suffering from muscle fatigue, which is expected to rule him out of the midweek trip to Elche.

However, reports in Spain have claimed that the 24-year-old will be fit to face Diego Simeone's side at the Santiago Bernabeu next weekend.
