Real Madrid assistant head coach Paul Clement has reportedly been added to Newcastle United's shortlist as they continue to search for a new manager.
John Carver is unlikely to remain in charge of the team beyond the end of the current season, and any appointment could depend on whether Newcastle remain in the Premier League after eight successive defeats dragged them into the relegation battle.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is keen to hold talks with Clement, who has worked alongside Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea, PSG and Madrid.
The 43-year-old has also been linked with Queens Park Rangers in recent months, and he is believed to be keen to begin a career in management.
Clement is unlikely to discuss leaving Real until the end of the season as the club continue to fight for success in La Liga and the Champions League.
