Kaka on target again as Orlando City beat DC United

Kaka's goal on the half-hour mark is enough to give Orlando City a 1-0 win over DC United in the MLS.

Orlando City recorded back-to-back wins in the MLS for the first time after beating DC United 1-0 at the Citrus Bowl Stadium.

Kaka scored the only goal of the game as the hosts - who beat Chicago Fire 3-2 last time out - recorded successive wins.

It took the best part of 23 minutes for the game to throw up a goalscoring chance as Kaka saw his effort beaten away by Bill Hamid.

That opportunity proved the catalyst for the game to open up a little more and United had their first chance two minutes later, with Tally Hall denying Jairo Arrieta.

Orlando grew in control and Hamid was again alert to keep out Pedro Ribeiro - but a bigger save was on the horizon.

Taylor Kemp conceded a 29th-minute penalty by fouling Ribeiro, only for Kaka to see his spot-kick saved by Hamid but the Brazilian was on hand to head home the rebound for his seventh of the season.

Adrian Heath's Orlando side continued to dominate after the break, with Kaka continuing to cause problems but he fired wide, before Eric Avila followed suit by missing the target shortly afterwards.

In a rare foray forward, United almost got back on level terms when Steve Birnbaum nodded Fabian Espindola's excellent cross narrowly over the bar on the hour mark.

The visitors finished the clash on top, with Conor Doyle and Chris Korb missing golden chances to snatch a point, but the hosts held on.
