Nice have sealed their place in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sochaux.

Nemanja Pejcinovic headed the home side in front at Allianz Riviera after he was left unmarked from a corner in the 14th minute.

Roy Contout missed a glorious chance to equalise after Lucas Veronese pushed Cedric Bakambu's shot into his path, but the forward blazed over the bar with the goal gaping.

The goalscorer Pejcinovic was subbed in the 22nd minute suffering from an apparent adductor injury, but his replacement, Romain Genevois, proved worthy enough as he swooped among a static defence to make it 2-0 just after the half-hour mark.

It was 3-0 before half time, this time with Sochaux's back three being caught far too narrow, allowing Jeremy Pied to overlap with pace and nudge the ball over an on-rushing Romain Genevois.
