Roy Hodgson opts to stick with the winning formula that secured a shock victory over champions Chelsea last Saturday, which gave the Eagles their first goals and points of the season.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who was ineligible to feature against the Blues, takes a place on the bench. Wayne Hennessey is also among the replacements as Julian Speroni keeps his place in goal.

Hosts Newcastle are also unchanged from their last game, a 2-2 stalemate with Southampton.

The only change for the Magpies comes on the bench, as calf injury-afflicted Dwight Gayle is replaced by Aleksandar Mitrovic.
