Dean Henderson will reportedly start for Manchester United in Saturday's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur, with the club's number one goalkeeper David de Gea out through illness.
Henderson has not played in the Premier League since the end of last season, with the England international dropping back behind De Gea in the pecking order at Old Trafford this term.
The 25-year-old has only made three appearances in all competitions in 2021-22, last featuring against Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the start of February.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Henderson will be in the starting side against Spurs, as De Gea has been forced to withdraw from the squad through illness.
There have been suggestions that De Gea has tested positive for COVID-19, although Man United have not commented on the situation, and there is unlikely to be an official update until interim head coach Ralf Rangnick speaks ahead of the clash with Spurs later tonight.
Henderson could also feature against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League next week if De Gea is unable to recover in time for the last-16 second leg at Old Trafford.
