Marcus Rashford will be aiming to return to the scoresheet in the Premier League when Manchester United head to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon to tackle Aston Villa.

The England international has netted in three of his last four league appearances, registering against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers, while he helped the Red Devils record a 3-0 victory over West Ham United last weekend.

Man United are sixth in the Premier League table, eight points off fourth-placed Villa, demonstrating the need to pick up a positive result on Sunday.

Rashford has faced Villa 10 times at first-team level, boasting a record of eight wins, one draw and one defeat, while he has scored twice and provided four assists against them.

Eight of those matches have taken place in the Premier League, with Rashford having a record of six wins, one draw and one defeat, scoring once and providing four assists, while he has also tackled the Lions once in the FA Cup and once in the EFL Cup, with Man United triumphing on each occasion.

The FA Cup meeting came in the third round of the 2021-22 competition, with Rashford playing 85 minutes of a 1-0 Man United win, before he scored in a 4-2 success for the Red Devils at Old Trafford in the third round of last season's EFL Cup, which Erik ten Hag's side won.

Rashford actually netted on his first-ever Premier League appearance against Villa, registering in a 1-0 Man United victory towards the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The forward also impressed in both league games between the two teams during the 2019-20 campaign, providing an assist in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, before setting up Bruno Fernandes to score in a 3-0 Red Devils success at Villa Park in the reverse game.

Rashford also provided an assist in a 3-1 win for Man United at Villa Park in the latter stages of the 2020-21 season, but he missed both league games in 2021-22 through injury.

The Englishman has helped the Red Devils win their last two games against Villa, including a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford earlier this season, with Rashford again providing an assist.

The forward set up Alejandro Garnacho to make it 2-1 in the 59th minute, and Man United then went on to score twice more to secure a vital three points on home soil.

Rashford could not help Ten Hag's side pick up a positive result at Villa Park last season, though, as he played the full 90 minutes of a 3-1 loss for the 20-time English champions.
