Phil Jagielka believes that Everton could have defeated Manchester City on Saturday, but is pleased with the point they earned at the Etihad Stadium.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has said that he and his teammates are "frustrated" for not winning against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Marouane Fellaini put the Toffees ahead in the 33rd minute, but Carlos Tevez converted a penalty 10 minutes later to bag a 1-1 draw for Roberto Mancini's side at the Etihad Stadium.

"We're pleased but a little bit frustrated," Jagielka told Everton's official website. "We played really well in the first half, stuck to our game plan and didn't give them too many opportunities.

"From our point of view, a bit of a soft penalty got them back in the game and then we spent most of the second half defending, as you expect to when you come to the home of the champions.

"Maybe it was a little bit of a pull but it happens all the time and you see a lot of them not given. But a point at Manchester City is still a good point for us and we'll look forward to the next game."

Everton are currently sixth in the league table with 23 points from 15 matches.
