David Moyes: 'Everton deserved a point'

Everton boss David Moyes insists that his side deserved their 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Saturday.

Everton manager David Moyes has insisted that his players fully deserved their 1-1 draw at Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Marouane Fellaini gave the visitors the lead at the Etihad Stadium, but a controversial Carlos Tevez penalty got the champions level before half time.

Both teams created chances after the break, but neither side could find a winner.

"It's pleasing when you come to the champions and be able to come away with a point," Moyes told Sky Sports News.

"But it's no more than we deserved. The way the players played, they played really well in the first half and were compact in the second half to make it hard for Manchester City."

A third consecutive draw in the league for Everton has seen them stay in sixth place in the table.
