Clint Dempsey has been left out of the Fulham squad for the second consecutive week amid speculation over his future.

Dempsey was left out of the Cottagers' season opener against Norwich City last week, and was subsequently fined for allegedly refusing to play for the club ever again.

The United States international is thought to be trying to force a move to Liverpool, but manager Martin Jol revealed that there is still no bid on the table for the player.

"It's the same situation. There has been no formal bid on the table and nothing has changed," he said.

Liverpool are reportedly considering selling Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing in order to raise funds for the £7.5m-rated American.
