FC Twente have suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against Heracles in the Eredivisie.

Heracles threatened from the start with Oussama Tannane and Mike te Wierik both getting shots on goal in the opening 12 minutes.

The deadlock was broken five minutes later, though, when Iliass Bel Hassani struck.

Jesus Corona twice shot wide of the target before half time.

Hakim Ziyech was in the hunt for an equaliser at the start of the second half, and combined with Corona to test Bram Castro twice.

Bel Hassani turned provider in the 75th minute, setting up Wout Weghorst to double Heracles's lead.

Ziyech and Renato Tapia were unable to breach the Heracles defence in the closing stages.
