Hamburger SV chairman Dietmar Beiersdorfer denies that Rafael van der Vaart could depart the club this summer amid reported interest from Queens Park Rangers.

Hamburger SV chairman Dietmar Beiersdorfer has denied reports that Rafael van der Vaart could depart the German outfit this summer.

Queens Park Rangers have been strongly linked with a move for the 31-year-old, who played under R's boss Harry Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Beiersdorfer told reporters in Germany that he is "counting" on the Dutchman this season.

Van der Vaart has a contract with the German club until next summer.
