Bordeaux fall to first league defeat at Guingamp

Guingamp beat Bordeuax 2-1 at the Stade du Roudourou to inflict a first Ligue 1 defeat of the season on their opponents.

Bordeaux have suffered their first defeat of the Ligue 1 season having fallen 2-1 at lowly Guingamp.

The hosts were ahead with 26 minutes on the clock when Mustapha Diallo fired home a free kick from range.

Guingamp added a second before the interval courtesy of Christophe Mandanne's penalty, leaving Les Girodins with a real mountain to climb.

Cheick Diabate did manage to pull a goal back late on, but it was not enough as Jocelyn Gourvennec's charges held out for all three points at the Stade du Roudourou.

Despite the defeat, Bordeaux remain second in the league table.
