Chelsea's Jose Mourinho pleased with "important" victory

Jose Mourinho hails Chelsea's away victory over Schalke in the Champions League.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said he is confident that his side will progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Blues are currently at the top of Group E with six points from three matches following their 3-0 victory over Schalke in Germany on Tuesday.

"If you do garbage [against Basel] then you have to clean it up and we cleaned it up," BBC Sport quotes the Portuguese manager as saying.

"We've got two matches at home so now we are in good condition to qualify and we'll try to finish top. It's an important victory for us."

Fernando Torres scored twice for Chelsea at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
