Celtic manager Neil Lennon threatens to resign following an argument with a group of supporters during today's home defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has threatened to resign following an argument with a group of supporters behind his technical area during today's home defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Scottish champions, who recorded a famous 2-1 win over Barcelona earlier this month, were booed off the pitch after losing to Caley.

Lennon said: "They are frustrated. I disagreed with them, I didn't like what they said about the team. Look, if they are not happy with what I am doing and they want me to go, I will.

"If the fans make it clear that they are not happy and they want me out then that's okay, I will do the honourable thing.

"I can't repeat [what the fans said] because it is public arena but there were a lot of expletives and heavy criticism, which I didn't think was justified."

Celtic are top of the SPL table, with 25 points from 14 games.
