Preview: Burnley vs. Derby County

Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Championship clash between Burnley and Derby County at Turf Moor.

Burnley welcome Derby County to Turf Moor on Wednesday with both clubs within touching distance of the playoff positions in the Championship.

Burnley's draw with Birmingham City left them in 13th spot in the table, although three points on Boxing Day could move them as high as tenth and within four points of the top six.

Derby, meanwhile, suffered defeat to Hull City on Saturday, but back-to-back victories prior to the clash have left them in 10th position, just four points outside of the playoff places.

The two sides have already met this season at Pride Park and it was Burnley that picked up all three points in a 2-1 win. The same scoreline also transpired in August 2011.

Burnley are expected to remain unchanged from the side that drew with Birmingham at the weekend. They will once more look to Charlie Austin, who has scored 18 league goals this season, to provide the ammunition.

Derby also could name the same side that lost against Hull at the weekend, although Ben Davies and Theo Robinson are both pushing for inclusion from the start.

Recent form:

Sports Mole says: 2-1
