Cameron Jerome gives 10-man Norwich City victory over Bournemouth

Cameron Jerome's late goal gives 10-man Norwich City an unlikely three points against Bournemouth in Alex Neil's first game in charge of the club.

Cameron Jerome's late goal secured 10-man Norwich City a 2-1 win against Bournemouth this afternoon in Alex Neil's first game in charge of the club.

The loss brings to an end a 14-game unbeaten streak in the Championship for Bournemouth, who stay top of the table despite the result.

Harry Arter found Marc Pugh on the left early on and the winger crossed low into the area, but Jonny Howson was there to clear.

At the other end, Gary Hooper flicked on a Nathan Redmond cross to Bradley Johnson, who nodded over the bar.

Alexander Tettey then drove through the middle and passed to Redmond, who cut inside before seeing his shot blocked by Steve Cook.

Despite the away side's chances, it was Bournemouth who went in front when Matt Ritchie slotted home from Pugh's cross with a first-time finish.

In response, Jerome showed clever feet and got a shot away from a tight angle, which Artur Boruc did well to parry.

Hooper was eventually the one to draw the two sides level when he slammed home his fifth goal of the season from close range, after Bournemouth had failed to clear from a corner.

The even nature to the game continued into the second half, with both sides displaying a high-tempo style as they looked to edge in front.

Pugh played in Brett Pitman on the edge of the area, but his volley was straight at Norwich keeper John Ruddy.

Bournemouth looked increasingly likely to get themselves in front as the half went on and Norwich's task was not made any easier when referee Chris Foy showed a straight red card to Howson for a hefty challenge on Yann Kermorgant.

An impressive defensive display, however, was the basis for an unlikely three points for Norwich as Jerome curled in from outside the box late on to secure a dramatic win for the Canaries.
