The 24-year-old has been expected to extend his stay with the Brazilian outfit following a 12-month temporary stint.
Denilson has struggled to make an impact at the Emirates since his debut in October 2006 and will try to boost his playing time with Sao Paulo for another season.
The Brazilian made 47 appearances for his boyhood club in their last campaign.
