Arsene Wenger 'does not care' about critics following fan banner calling for axe

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he 'does not care' after fans unfurled a banner calling for the Frenchman to be sacked during last night's FA Cup tie against Hull.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he 'does not care' about his critics after supporters unfurled a banner calling for the Frenchman to be sacked.

Fans have expressed discontent over the last few weeks after Arsenal slipped to eight points adrift of leaders Leicester City in the Premier League.

The North London outfit are also on the verge of getting knocked out of the Champions League as they need to overcome a 2-0 deficit against Barcelona on March 16.

A banner reading, 'Arsene thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye' was displayed by the fans during last night's 4-0 win over Hull City in their FA Cup fifth-round replay at the KC Stadium.

Wenger has insisted, though, that it did not affect him. He told reporters: "There's nothing disappointing for me. You know, I do my job.

"Look at the history of the club, since the club exists, and you will see that I have nothing to be scared of. I don't care. I do not want to speak about that because it is always the same story.

"I told you already sometimes the press conferences are very boring and it is enough now. If you have any questions, you ask anybody else but you don't come back to me with that. Do you know someone who has won [the FA Cup] more than me?"

Wenger will celebrate 20 years in charge of Arsenal this September.
