Alan Pardew "pleased" to have landed Yaya Sanogo

Alan Pardew has challenged Yaya Sanogo to prove his Premier League credentials on loan at Crystal Palace in order to break into Arsenal's first team.

Alan Pardew believes that Crystal Palace will provide Yaya Sanogo with the perfect platform to push his way back into the Arsenal fold.

The 21-year-old joined the Eagles on loan earlier this week having failed to make an impression at the Emirates Stadium this season, featuring just six times in all competitions.

Having now pitched up at Palace for the remainder of the campaign, Pardew is confident that the Frenchman can make the desired impression during his spell in South London.

"Yaya comes into our club with much more of an even chance of starting or playing," he told reporters. "I spoke to Arsene [Wenger], and he has high regard for the player and feels that it would be good for Arsenal and for him to come on loan.

"It's a platform for him, no more than that, to see if he is ready to be a Premier League player for Arsenal. He needs to prove that here, and his first few days training have been very good and we're pleased to have him.

"He has a fantastic CV, full of all the grades you need before you become a Premier League player. He's done all that, he's U21 French international, etc."

Sanogo could make his Palace debut away at Burnley tomorrow afternoon.
