Nadal ends Murray’s Wimbledon hopes

Rafael Nadal beats Andy Murray to the Wimbledon final.

Rafael Nadal is through to his fourth Wimbledon final after beating Andy Murray 5-7 6-2 6-2 6-4.

There was little to separate the defending champion and the British hopeful during the first set, remaining even until Murray broke serve to take the set 7-5. The second looked to follow the same pattern until the Spaniard broke in the fifth game after which Murray didn’t manage to win another game, the set ending 6-2.

The Scot failed to regain his footing in the third set, again defeated 6-2. Although Murray improved the balance in the fourth set, he was knocked out of the semi-finals by Nadal for the second year running.

Nadal will face second seed Novak Djokovic in the final as the Spaniard competes for his third Wimbledon title.
