Janko Tipsarevic into round two with straight-sets win over David Nalbandian

Tipsarevic knocks out Nalbandian

Janko Tipsarevic has kicked off his Wimbledon campaign brightly with a 6-4 7-6[4] 6-2 victory over David Nalbandian.

Tipsarevic started off the match on the front foot, orchestrating the court and snatching the first break of serve, which hampered Nalbandian's chances of finding his way back into the set.

After claiming the first set, the Serbian pro continued to dominate and while Nalbandian, who is currently under police investigation for alleged assault regarding an incident at the Queen's final, couldn't find the vital break.

The second set came down to a tie-break and while it was evenly matched, it was Tipsarevic who clinched the important set point.

The third set was a more tight affair between the two, with games going be the way of serve until Tipsarevic displayed an impressive shot to break his opponent and go on to secure a spot in the second round.
