Serena Williams beat Agnieszka Radwanska 1-6 7-5 2-6 in the final to claim her fifth Wimbledon singles title this afternoon.

Williams started the first set the better of the two, using her power to race into the lead and break Radwanska's serve. The American held her own serve and comfortably took the first set 1-6.

A rain shower delayed play before the two players came out for the second set, which went by way of serve until Williams showed her dominance once again to break the Pole's serve and take a 1-3 lead.

Radwanska began to ease into the match much more and held her serve to stay in touch with Williams. She then broke for the first time in the game to bring the second set level at 4-4, before holding serve to take a 5-4 lead. The Pole broke serve again to claim the second set 7-5.

The third set continued with both players holding serve, until Williams got herself on top once more to break serve twice. The American eventually won the set 2-6 to win the game and Wimbledon title.
