World number one Rafael Nadal coasts into round two of Wimbledon with a straight-sets win over Dudi Sela.

World number one Rafael Nadal has eased into the second round of Wimbledon by beating Dudi Sela in straight sets.

Playing in his first tournament since last month's French Open triumph, the Spaniard saw off the world number 127 6-3 6-3 6-2.

Nadal, who is seeded second behind defending champion Roger Federer, played no warm-up matches ahead of the grass-court Grand Slam but was rarely troubled by the Isreali.

The King of Clay's first breakthrough came in the first set when Sela double-faulted to put him 5-3, and he served it out.

Nadal broke again early in the second set and never looked back, but his opponent survived two match points before the Spaniard settled the contest with a powerful backhand.

Nadal will take on either Canada's Vasil Pospisil or Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan in round two.
